RI Kinship Navigator Revamps Search on Website

The Rhode Island Partnership for Family Connectors RI Kinship Navigator website was recently revamped to better handle the numerous resources contained in the site’s database.

The website, viewable at KinCareNav.org, allows users to search Statewide and Local resources in a variety of categories, including Emergency Food or Shelter, Education, Substance Abuse, and much more. Individual entries include information on specific resources, including phone numbers or websites, hours of operation and much more, allowing users to have one stop to find the help they may need.

The recent work on the site helped sort and present these resources in a more usable manner. Now, site visitors that launch a search on the site, either by resource category or by location, will see basic information for those resources returned in search results - including a link to “read more.” Expanded information will be available when this link is clicked, giving search result pages a clean, easy to browse feel while also making that extended content available to users that request it.

Other additions to the site include a more robust news system and editing controls for the site’s admin team to allow them to better manage the site and keep the content always up to date.
